The Bible - Periodic Table - 137

This may very well be the most important number: 137. It is closely associated with a mystery in physics, the fine-structure constant, denoted by the Greek letter alpha. Alpha is approximately 1/137; its inverse is approximately 137.036. In this post, I explore the whole number 137 and the connections that caught my attention.

Below is the dictionary I use, and this is page 137. On the left you can see quotes and things that pertain to 137, like 1 Corinthians 13:7: Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

In the next sequence I will show you why this is a special dictionary and I think from above.

For the word totals below, I use A=1, B=2, C=3, through Z=26, adding the letter values and ignoring spaces and punctuation. The element numbers are their atomic numbers.

What if I told you the first three words of the Bible describe 137? “In the beginning” = 137. The first sentence of the KJV, Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, equals 3 x 137, or 411. Let's look at another scripture, the first mention of mystery in the Bible: Mark 4:11, And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables. Then Luke 1:37: For with God nothing shall be impossible.

So that is unique in itself, but now let's look at the first word of the Bible: In. The letters I and N connect to four element symbols: In, Ni, I, and N. Reversing In to Ni is my wordplay step, not a rule of chemistry. These are alternative ways of using the letters, not four elements spelled by the word at once.

In 49 Indium - Words = 49 Garden - Lord - Atom - In God - Sign - That - Alive

Ni 28 Nickel - Words = 28 Eden - Man - Air - Lamb - Kabala - We

I 53 Iodine - Words = 53 Womb - God Code - Code Hand - Sum - Sheep - Conceal

N 7 Nitrogen - Words = 7 Bad - Be - DC

Let's total 49 + 28 + 53 + 7 = 137.

Did you notice Indium 49 Garden and Nickel 28 Eden? What happens if we add them together? You get Garden Eden and 77. 77 = Christ, as does power. Does anyone understand the power of God? Power + God = 103, lawrencium, or it's God Spell or anagram Numeric Law.

Matthew 10:30: But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. I think just maybe we are on to something. Let's add God Code and DC, or 53 + 7 = 60. Words that equal 60 - Word - The Code - trail - Yoked - Zinc - pray - magnet - Idea Dream - Hades End - Grace God - Gold Au - Age Time - Allah God - Ankh God - Begin End - ineffable.

Just maybe we will see Hades End by the Grace of God and see the Word bring all Gold Au. So Christ Word = 137. The connection between 137 and physics is still a big mystery to explore. I believe God understands this number, even as we continue trying to understand it.

Jesus' first miracle is turning water into wine. So let's look at W74 + I53 + Ne10 = 137. We also know God is a consuming fire! Hebrews 12:29: For our God is a consuming fire. F9 + I53 + Re75 = 137.

The image below represents what we just discussed above. Notice how 53 has all three colors.

Look at your keyboard. Notice JKL: Jesus King Lord. To the left are F, G, and H; read in reverse, HGF: Holy Ghost Father. These are the word associations I see in those letters. Does Jesus use a keyboard? Who knows, but these letters have been staring us in the face for a long time.

Now let's total the words. (In Indium Ni Nickel I Iodine N Nitrogen = 351) (A B C... Z = 351) (Father Ghost Holy Jesus King Lord = 351). What are the chances of all of these equaling 351?

If you just total JKL, it equals 33. Guess what the 33rd prime number is? 137.

A coincidence with a sense of humor?

Here is a connection that makes me smile. About ten years ago, while making a movie, I noticed that the chapter “Why There Almost Certainly Is No God” in Richard Dawkins's The God Delusion began on page 137 in the copy I was using. I am pretty certain it was the first edition, but I no longer have the book to confirm the edition or show the page. This is my recollection, and page numbers can differ between editions.

I would love to ask him: Did you plan that, or did a Higher Power have a sense of humor? Of course, the page placement could also be a typesetting coincidence. It is the question that makes this fun for me.

Then there is his discussion of the Boeing 747. Using the same A=1 through Z=26 rule, JESUS = 10 + 5 + 19 + 21 + 19 = 74, and JUDGE = 10 + 21 + 4 + 7 + 5 = 47.

When I look at 747, I read two overlapping pairs: 74 and 47, sharing the middle 4. To me, that puts JESUS on the left and JUDGE on the right in the digits. This is my playful interpretation, not a claim about a biblical seating arrangement, Dawkins's intended meaning, or a demonstration that his argument is wrong. But it certainly gives me a chuckle.

An author's intention, a typesetter's coincidence, or something more? What do you make of it?

“There is a most profound and beautiful question associated with the observed coupling constant, e - the amplitude for a real electron to emit or absorb a real photon. It is a simple number that has been experimentally determined to be close to 0.08542455. (My physicist friends won't recognize this number, because they like to remember it as the inverse of its square: about 137.03597 with about an uncertainty of about 2 in the last decimal place. It has been a mystery ever since it was discovered more than fifty years ago, and all good theoretical physicists put this number up on their wall and worry about it.) Immediately you would like to know where this number for a coupling comes from: is it related to pi or perhaps to the base of natural logarithms? Nobody knows. It's one of the greatest damn mysteries of physics: a magic number that comes to us with no understanding by man. You might say the "hand of God" wrote that number, and "we don't know how He pushed his pencil." We know what kind of a dance to do experimentally to measure this number very accurately, but we don't know what kind of dance to do on the computer to make this number come out, without putting it in secretly!”
― Richard P. Feynman, QED: The Strange Theory of Light and Matter

"What I cannot create, I do not understand." Feynman

“Today alpha equals 1/137.0359 or so. Regardless, its value makes the periodic table possible. It allows atoms to exist and also allows them to react with sufficient vigor to form compounds, since electrons neither roam too freely from their nuclei nor cling too closely. This just-right balance has led many scientists to conclude that the universe couldn’t have hit upon its fine structure constant by accident.”
― Sam Kean, The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements

“Alpha sets the scale of nature -- the size of atoms and all things made of them, the intensity and colors of light, the strength of magnetism, and the metabolic rate of life itself. It controls everything that we see. ... In 137, apparently, science had found Nature's PIN Code.”
― Frank Close, The Infinity Puzzle: Quantum Field Theory and the Hunt for an Orderly Universe

“God is a pure mathematician!' declared British astronomer Sir James Jeans. The physical Universe does seem to be organised around elegant mathematical relationships. And one number above all others has exercised an enduring fascination for physicists: 137.0359991.... It is known as the fine-structure constant and is denoted by the Greek letter alpha (α).”
― Paul Davies

Bethe was mischievous with 137

These connections do not settle what 137 means, but they are what caught my attention. I see something worth exploring in them. What do you make of them?
